The Oakes Public School system offers a well rounded academic curriculum, extra-curricular education and vocational technical education through the fully accredited public school system.
The Southeast Region Career and Technology Center provides a variety of vocational technical education programs for youth and adults in Oakes and the surrounding communities.

There are a number of scholarships awarded from local business and individual as well as state and national scholarship awards. The local guidance counselor at Oakes High School can assist students in obtaining deadline and criteria for the various scholarship programs.
