The Good Samaritan Society Oakes is a licensed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) designed to meet the needs of 102 residents. The facility is certified for Medicaid and Medicare. The Center offers a small town "home like" environment for all of its' residents.

MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan society is to share God's love in word and deed by providing shelter and supportive services to older persons and others in need, believing that, "In Christ's Love, Everyone is Someone."
ENVIRONMENT
Visitors to the Center will notice beautifully manicured grounds, friendly staff and a clean, "home like" environment. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with special belongings. Attractive lounge and dining areas provide space for meeting with family, friends, and other residents. The Center's Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance departments work to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable surrounding.

ACTIVITIES
The Center´s Activity personnel provide a well-rounded program for persons with varied interests and abilities seven days a week. Group activities are held several times daily, and residents are also encouraged to pursue individual hobbies and interests. Individualized activities are provided for room-bound or bed-bound residents.

NURSING CARE
The Center is designed to provide 24-hour care for persons with unstable medical conditions following hospitalization, those requiring rehabilitative care, and those who are unable to live independently and require assistance in meeting daily living needs.
The friendly, capable staff includes registered and licensed practical nurses as well as certified medication aids, and certified nursing assistants. A strong continuing education program helps nursing staff members expand both their technical skills and sensitivity to the needs of residents and families. The Center also offers Adult Day Care and Adult Respite Care.
RESTORATIVE CARE
The Center's restorative care program is designed to enable each individual to achieve and maintain the highest level of self-care and independence. Individual therapy and group exercise programs are carried out as ordered by the resident's physician. Available services include physical, occupational, and speech therapies.
SOCIAL SERVICES
The Social Worker at the Center is the primary person responsible for handling inquiries and admissions. The Social Worker acts as a resident advocate in providing counseling, facilitating problem solving, offering information about financial assistance, and supporting residents and families as they adjust to the changes associated with age, illness, disability, and nursing home replacement.
DIETARY SERVICES
A registered dietitian oversees the dietary program and helps plan therapeutic diets as ordered by the attending physician. Individual needs and preferences are considered in menu planning. The dining room provides an atmosphere where residents an enjoy fellowship and nutritious, appetizing meals. Families and visitors are encouraged to join residents for a meal, available for a nominal fee.
OPEN ADMISSION POLICY
Persons are admitted and/or retained without distinction due to race, color, national origin, handicapping conditions, sex or age; who do not endanger health safety, or rights of other residents; whose needs can be met in accordance with state/federal regulations regarding care, facility policies, fiscal resources and staff adequate in number, qualifications, training and skills. If unable to admit, attempts will be made to refer persons to a resource which would be able to meet their needs.
FINANCES
Daily room rates are determined by the North Dakota Department of Health Case Mix System of Care Assessment. Rates for both private and semi-private rooms vary, based on the resident's care needs. The four approved methods of payment are private pay, Medicaid or Medical Assistance, Medicare, Parts A and B and long-term care insurance.

The Business office is open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
