"Always polite, helpful. Checks back to see if all is well. Delightful young man."
Praise stories have been heard about how Seth has "saved their hinney" on numerous occasions. He is a wizard with computers and never makes you feel like you are challenged. Seth, thank you for going above and beyond in service to the customers of the community.
April 2013 - Marissa Huebsch

Tara, the pharmacist (Marissa Huebsch) who was working with me asked me about my allergy to a particular drug. Your pharmacist drew attention to the fact I was prescribed a medication in the family of drugs I had allergic reactions to..... I cannot tell you how thankful I am for your employee's honesty and integrity. Tara, you and your employee (whom you have surely had a hand in training) need to accept my sincere thanks for this action. There are times I curse the disadvantages of living in a small community, however I can see clearly that your business of knowing each customer and taking time and care with them would be very hard to find in any larger city and I believe would rarely be found in a community of any size. Once again, please let your employee (Marissa) know of my deep appreciation for her time and effort in my care. You have earned my life-long business. This is a paraphrase of the letter sent to Tara Schmitz at Tara's Thrifty White Pharmacy.
May 2013 - Ryan Lagodinski

We would like to nominate Ryan Lagodinski for the Pride of Oakes Award. Ryan is the Physical Therapist at Oakes Community Hospital. When our son damaged his meniscus on January 5th at the Central Cass Tournament, we thought he was most likely done with wrestling his Senior year. Our son went to see Ryan and he helped us get recommendations from a couple of ortho doctors. When our son did not like the opinions - he (Ryan) kept with us to get a second and third. He got us in quickly to see a surgeon and our son had knee surgery on January 11th. Ryan immediately started light therapy knowing that if our son was going to have a chance to get to state, he would have to stay in shape. He (Ryan) was at the gym everyday with our son at wrestling practice. He called him, checked up on him and made sure his confidence was just as healed as his knee. On February 9th -- one month after the tear, our son placed third in Region 1, to secure his final trip to the State Tournament on February 16th. Our son placed 5th at the ND state Tournament at 160bs. We know that without Ryan, our son would not have made it to state this year. Hat's off to someone who can understand the dreams of others and use their talents to help achieve them!! Ryan is truly a PRIDE OF OAKES.
June 2013 - Lori Hayenga
Pictured: Becki Thompson (Relay for Life Committee), June 2013 Pride of Oakes Recipient Lori Hayenga, and Oakes Area Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Jill Cox
I would like to nominate a very special person for the Pride of Oakes. She has given so much of herself and endless hours for Relay for Life every year for many years. She has not had cancer herself but wants to raise money to find a cure. To that end, she will do many things throughout the year. This year she is Co-Chairman of the Dickey County Relay for Life and is also Co-Chairing a team. She finds many ideas to raise money for the event. She is also a day care provider and is loved much by the children and their families for whom she provides care. She is active in her church and would make a very proud Pride of Oakes. Also: The Hayenga family is now doing the inserting of flyers into the mailbag for the Chamber of commerce. The Chamber has been so blessed to have absolutely wonderful people do this weekly deadline sensitive project throughout the years and the tradition of excellent service continues with the Hayenga Family.

I would like to nominate Karen Roberge @ Circle R for the Pride of Oakes. We are greeted every morning from this lovely lady!! Karen always has a smile on her face and she cares about each customer as they are like family. Seeing Karen in the morning starts your day off right!! She is an asset to Circle R. We will continue to stop @ Circle R every morning to grab our coffee, pop, pizza or whatever but best of all is the smile and greeting that you receive from Karen.
August 2013 - Allen Paul

I want to nominate Allen Paul for Pride of Oakes - he is the nice young man working at Northside Eats and Treats...I have heard many nice comments and witnessed it myself. I called in an order and he answered very pleasantly and then thanked me. I then went there to pick my order up and while I waited he very pleasantly greeted everyone that entered and asked how he can help them and later thanked them and told them to come again. I was impressed and totally understand the nice comments I have heard about him. Great "customer service" for our Oakes area.
September 2013 - Wanita Titus
Pictured: Chamber Board Members: Lee Boyles, Jill Cox, Nancy Domine, September 2013 Pride of Oakes Recipient Wanita Titus, Chamber Board Member Jean Schmaltz, Ron Mahoney and Deb Brummund Mahoney of the Butcher Block.
Wanita Titus of the Butcher Block. Greets you with a smile and is always pleasant and willing to help out with what ever your needs are. She goes the extra mile to check on items on hand and does things up just the way you want them.
