Westside Softball Park offers 3 softball fields complete with agri-lime infields. In addition, the park hosts a new concession stand, restroom facilities, fences and 600 newly planted trees around the grounds of the area.

The Men's Softball League, the Women's Softball League, Boy's Baseball (12 years and under) and the Youth Girls Softball groups actively utilize this field as a key summer recreational activity

The Westside Softball Park has been in existence for 25 years and was completely remodeled in 1997. Ongoing improvements continue to maintain the vitality of this park. Proceeds from the concession stand finance continued improvements.

The park is managed by a commited local volunteer softball association and the Oakes Parks and Recreations Board. The softball association successfully obtained individual donations, business donations and two grants to support the park revitalization project. The grants were awarded from the Minnesota Twins Foundation and the North Dakota Forest Service.

Today this park hosts various regional softball tournaments and serves as a great summer recreational activity. Visitors are also encouraged to tour the Dickey County Historical Park located adjacent to the softball park.
